A member of the WGAI (Women’s Golf Association of India) and Asian Ladies Pro Golf, Sanam started her golfing career in her later years (1999) only to discover her passion and love for this sport. Being able to play the junior events only for a year, she won her first major trophy in a special ‘South-Paw’ event. Being a part of the Ladies Amateur Golf Tour (2000-2001), she has played a number of events all over India and also International Amateur events. (Southern India, Western India, Eastern India, Northern India, Punjab Open, Malaysian Ladies Amateur, Singapore Ladies Amateur Open etc)

Having won the London Pilsner “Golfer of the Year – 2001” and the Most Improved Golfer Salver 2000-2001, she turned professional in the year 2003. A certified teaching professional from the Indian National Golf Academy, National Golf Academy of India & European PGA, she is actively involved in training individuals, juniors, ladies, seniors and the corporate as individuals and group sessions. A committee member of the Bombay Presidency Golf Club for the past two years holding portfolios as Handicapping Manager and Head of Golf Promotions she has also conducted special Golf Rules & Etiquette sessions.

At present she also promotes the game of golf through innovative Indoor golf concepts. On the consultancy board of Neo International Sports Academy (NISA – an Indian leg of Australia India Sports Academy- AISA) – she is part of many teaching programs, corporate golf workshops & seminars, consulted on various golf academy set-ups and golf projects.She is also a columnist with the Golf Plus magazine and provides a number of golfing articles to various modes of media to help promote the game.
